Austin Shakespeare presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Monday evening March 28th, Grand Stafford Theater will host Austin Shakespeare as they perform William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Austin Shakespeare is Austin’s premier professional, classical theater company and is a resident company of The Rollins Theatre. The company presents professional theatre of the highest quality with an emphasis on the plays of William Shakespeare, bringing to the public performances that are fresh, bold, imaginative, thought-provoking and eminently accessible, connecting the truths of the past with the challenges and possibilities of today. They will be performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a work by William Shakespeare portraying the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works and is widely performed all over the world.
