BLUE BEAR
Blue Bear is a 5-piece indie/folk band based in Austin, Texas. Following in the footsteps of their biggest influences, Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear, Blue Bear has quickly gained a reputation for their infectious melodies and impeccable four-part harmonies.
Band founders, and former high school classmates, Brandon Aguilar and Jeremy Holmsley started the band in the Summer of 2011, quickly recruited another former classmate, Casey Arthur, and played as an acoustic trio for several months, performing at open mic venues in Austin. The three recorded the first EP in January and by February of 2012, the full band performed for the first time (with yet another former classmate, Jeremy Wilkinson, on drums and Holmsley on bass). They quickly recruited bass player and vocalist Khoury Moore, not only to hold down the bass, but to add a fourth harmony.
In May of 2012, Blue Bear won The Recording Conservatory of Austin’s 6th Annual “Unsigned Artist Competition,” after competing against bands from across the country in an online vote-getting contest, as well as a final 4 showcase in front of industry reps. In June, they were handpicked to be the featured band at The Art Institute of Austin’s “Summer Studio 2012,” a week of master classes and workshops for high school students interested in pursuing audio engineering, photography, graphic design, and more.
Blue Bear has mesmerized crowds all over the central Texas area with their unique sound and intricate harmonies. They are quickly building a dedicated fan base in the Austin area and are currently working on their second EP.

THE WILL CALLERS
Emerging from the Texas landscape with their debut full-length album, “What Else is Left?,” is the New Americana Rock & Roll outfit known as The Will Callers. The band’s raw and youthful spirit, paired with the tasteful and oh so cool stylings of producersRay Wylie Hubbard and George Reiff, create a melting pot of organic, true to the bone roots music.
Running the gamut of influences, The Will Callers have created a unique yet familiar sound in their own right. “House of Falling Cards” screams Tom Petty and the Stones while “One Single Tear” reveals a more outlaw roadhouse feel. “We want to create timeless music… Rock & Roll, Country, Blues, Gospel, Funk… there’s something in each of those styles, a sort of rawness and honesty that has gotten ahold of us.”
The band credits their producers Ray Wylie Hubbard and George Reiff as having a refining effect on their sound. “They helped us keep things simple and get to the heart of our songs, not allowing us to hide behind any glitz or glamor. Everyone that played on the record, Brad Rice (Son Volt, Whiskeytown), Scrappy Jud Newcomb (Ian Mclagan), Bukka Allen (BoDeans), and Scott Esbeck (Jack Ingram, Kelly Willis), also helped in this regard and really made outstanding contributions to the songs.”
Life-long friends, Jake Murphy and Daniel Slatton, who have played in a number of musical groups together over the past decade, formed in 2009 what would eventually become The Will Callers. The band’s first major exposure came with winning the2010 Shiner Rising Star Competition, an annual series of events presented by Shiner Bock and KHYI 95.3 “The Range.” With their winnings, The Will Callers went on to record their debut album, which is due out in April 30th, 2013.
