The Cover Letter
Hailed as “the most reinvented version of Americana you’ve ever heard… like if the rock of Meatloaf was thrown into the folk world” by Free Press Houston, Austin-based band The Cover Letter is on the rise in independent music.
Founded in the garage of bassist Jarrod Nall and guitarist/vocalist Jacob Shipman in 2013, the band released their debut, self-titled EP just two years later. The group has since grown into a dynamic six-piece featuring Evan Runyon (lead guitar), Angie Vanegas (vocals), Fletcher Inzer (keyboards) and Patrick Barrow (drums). They were ranked #1 in Music Connection Magazine’s Top 25 New Music Critiques 2017, named Top 10 Best New Austin Band by The Austin Chronicle, and have been featured in festivals across the state of Texas, including: Deep Ellum Arts Festival, Pecan Street Festival and Via Colori Festival.
