Homebrew Live feat. The Inators w/ Critical Misfire & BAMH
December 13, 2014 @ 9:00 pm - 11:55 pm
The Inators is loud guitar bass drum indie pop. The Inators is Dan, Fred, Johnny, and Kelly. With influences from 6L6, EL84, Tim, and 12AX7, The Inators combine elements of The Only Ones, The Replacements, Gin Blossoms, Cheap Trick, The Knack, a little Husker Du, and a dash of Beatles, to produce rock-n-roll that is a bit power pop and a bit pop punk. As an outcome, The Inator’s songs are sweet, hopeful, bitter, and betrayed.
Dan hadn’t been in a band for a long time and wanted to do the band thing again because he was tired of writing songs for his computer to listen to. Kelly was in so many bands, adding another gig as a drummer didn’t make any difference to him. Kelly knew Johnny, who had a bass. Johnny knew Fred, who had guitar. So, that’s it right: songs+guitar+bass+drums=band.
In a town full of country and heavy metal acts, Critical Misfire sticks out like a sore thumb, filling the gap left between the two musical factions. With a healthy dose of 90’s inspired grunge rock and a taste for punk and pop, Critical Misfire delivers where other bands fall short…catchy hooks and hard-driving delivery. After hijacking an open mic night and following up the next week with a full set, Critical Misfire is making progress at an accelerated pace.
