September 6, 2014 @ 7:30 pm - 11:55 pm
Grand Stafford Theater and Rock 103.9 present Homebrew Live FREE Concert Series sponsored by Rock 103.9 Homebrew, Rock Signal Productions & Mobile Toys, Inc. This month Psychonaut Studio showcases its artists HINDSIGHT, SELDOM, THE BLACK 13 & DAWN OVER ZERO.
HINDSIGHT
The riff and percussion driven hard rock band “Hind§ight” formed in Sugar Land, Texas at around the turn of the millennium with a group of young musicians desiring to make music that would both rock hard but melodically inspire the minds of an audience. Hind§ight’s music is focused on the life experiences of each of the band members. So, if you are at a Hind§ight concert, feel free to ask them about some of the stories behind the songs. If you are looking for disingenuous Disney pop music written by industry song writers for pop singers who need auto-tune just to get out of bed in the morning, this is not your band and may god have mercy on your soul. If you want some rock music that you can jam to and relate to in your daily life come and rock out with us.

SELDOM
Seldom is an alternative/hard rock band from Houston, TX with the sole purpose of creating unique music coupled with a high intensity, energetic live experience. From the band’s beginning in mid-2013, Mitch, Matt, Carlos, and Bryan were inspired to write songs that were engaging and were different from one another to not only reflect their individual styles and inspirations, but also to make sure that each song could stand on its own and tell its own unique story. The songs that came from those writing sessions vary In musical, lyrical, and emotional layersFrom a crowd energizing punk-inspired song (“Plastic Idols”), to an ethereal ballad that crescendos into an emotional explosion (“Over and Over”), then a bass-driven monster (“Awoke to Darkness”), and a hard hitting rock anthem (“Cancer”). Each song flows seamlessly from one to the other. In that short amount of time, Seldom has built up a legion of fans, which has allowed them to share the stage with many great bands. Seldom has opened up for Lacuna Coil, Nothing More, Straight Line Stitch, Parabelle, Era 9, Emperors and Elephants, Day of Reckoning, and have appeared at SXSW. After having successfully funded their album via tremendous fan support on kickstarter, the band is now finishing up recording its first studio album, “One Left Standing”, and plans to begin touring in support of that album very soon. Seldom has turned its sights towards conquering the rest of the state and the nation…are you ready?
THE BLACK 13
The Black 13 is an American metal/rock band from Houston, TX.
DAWN OVER ZERO
Dawn Over Zero is a brand, and one that is widely known at that. This prolific seven-year-old machine continues to stay relevant and steadfast in this ever-changing music scene. With knowledge gained through major exposure and hard lessons learned, the band is well-traveled and poised for success. Hard work pays off… the listeners hear it, and Dawn Over Zero is still here writing songs about it. The music is not just an aural experience, it’s a heartfelt journey. No one leaves their shows without hearing a song they relate to – just ask the many Dawn Over Zero fans.
The band has evolved through various line-up adjustments and is now a sonic powerhouse. Guitarist, Steve Abbenante, brings a revitalized feel to the modern rock genre with riff-rich melodic hooks that sing as true and strongly as Mike Mears, the voice that powers the ‘DOZ’ engine. Jonathan Boyce (bass/vocals) and Mack Linan (drums) lay down an intelligent and unbreakable foundation that engages listeners whether they like it or not.
Dawn Over Zero has earned the pleasure of being a John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner and having snowboarding pro, Shaun White, represent DOZ with song placement on his “Red Bull Project X”
film. The group continues to gain international presence through a multitude of commercial media representation – they are, by no means, transparent.
In a sea of confused populations searching for the next big thing, Dawn Over Zero is the lighthouse steering you ashore.
DOZ is here to stay. See you at the show.
