November 29, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us on November 29 at Grand Stafford Theater. We have an amazing lineup for the evening and we hope to see you there too! Here’s what we’ll be hearing and seeing- in the presenters’ own words:

Brad Dressler – Owner & Director of Digital Marketing, Pro Social Media Coaching and Marketing

Which Superhero Are You? Discovering Your Personal Brand!

Every hero is different and so is every person. Everyone has a personal brand. I will discuss personal brands and how your brand shapes perception of yourself.

Lenzie Winton – Manager of Sales and Promotions, Escape Room BCS in College Station

Escape Rooms

In an escape room, players are locked in a themed room (such as a jail) in which they have a limited time to solve a series of intricate puzzles. Successfully solving the final puzzle allows the player to escape. Players who communicate, and work as a team, are most successful in escaping.

John Romero – Software Developer, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX)

The Love Bug – evolution of a hippie icon

Synopsis: A beautiful historic view of the Volkswagen and the transformational journey to become one of America’s icons of popular culture.

Kathi Appelt – NYTimes bestselling author, two-time finalist for the National Book Award, Newbery Honor Award, Pen USA Award
The Magical, Mystical Picture Book

On its face, a picture book is a perfect blend of text and art, but if it’s done really well, it transcends both. Don’t underestimate its power.

Evan Ballowe – Stay-at-Home Dad/Welder

Design Decay and Recomposition of the Created

As humans, our lives exist in a state of perpetual renewal and transformation. We learn new things, have new experiences, our ideas and perspectives change, time modifies our bodies and age affects our priorities. We are not now who we once were nor who we will one day be, we are persistent only in the inherent beauty of existence. I feel that this constant flux and innate splendor is paralleled in the physical world around us, that even as elements degrade beyond their intended function, their usefulness and appeal remain. My work reflects upon the unarticulated potential of discarded objects into new functions and uncommon forms.

Doors open at 5 pm for Craft Cocktail Tuesdays and the presentations start at 7. Admission is free, but there is a suggestion $10 for those who are able.
