Grupo Fantasma has been praised as one of the most important independent acts in the Latin genre and has continually defied expectations to create one of the most unique musical voices to come out of the United States in the last decade. In 2011 they garnered further acclaim by winning a Grammy (their second such nomination) for their self-produced release El Existential on Nat Geo Music which the Wall Street Journal called “Latin music both new and traditional…vibrant fusions that transcend easy classification.”

EL TULE
For eight years El Tule (el TOO-lay) has been honing its unique sound combining influences of Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Cuban and Reggae, in Austin TX. The music is about history, art and culture often focusing on legends and tales of the mystical. Fan favorites include “Tres Viudas”, the true story of three dancing widows in beautiful San Antonio, “La Ruta Maya”, a pounding tribute to the famed Mayan Route and “Mi Niño”, reminescent of a colorful childhood life on the border. The sound…”El sonido” that El Tule brings to each performance naturally transcends all cultural and social backgrounds.

STRAWBERRYJAM
strawberryJAM began as an impromptu jam-session in April of 2008 at the Barefoot Art Guild in College Station, TX. The lineup grew from there, bringing together musicians from the Texas A&M campus. “When we first started out, there was no practice, no set-list, and no membership. Whoever wanted to get on stage just jumped on, sometimes 13 people at one time, and the jam would go for hours.” The free-form performances taught the group how to improvise together and they continued to gain local popularity for high-energy, unpredictable performances.
